The EDF Pavilion’s narrative revolved around the relationship between energy and sport in fun and engaging ways, showing visitors how essential energy is in our everyday lives at a human-scale and that was easily digestible within the environment, being at the heart of the Olympic Park during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a sponsor pavilion the look and feel tapped into the brand values and identity of the host, whilst using this theme of energy.
Visitors could interact and generate their own energy individually or as a group, the message being that if we work together we can have an impact and create a sustainable future. The look and feel of graphic installations could also be brought to life through augmented reality - an engaging app allowed visitors to unlock content, animating stories and taking their pictures with virtual athletes.MET also created an immersive introduction film telling the story of how electricity powers a young girl’s path to becoming an Olympic athlete. This awe-inspiring show set the tone for the stories that followed and highlighted the importance of energy in our everyday lives.
