MET
Studio Design was commissioned in 1995 to design
a gallery dedicated to examining the forces that
mould and create the earth’s surfaces, as
part of the major £12 million ‘Earth
Galleries’ project at London’s famous
Natural History Museum. The brief for the project
was to add a huge new level of dynamism to the subject
matter, communicating the true drama of earth sciences.
Whilst staying true to the scientific facts and
agenda, the gallery has proven capable of inspiring
the interest of non-specialists of all ages.
