To
cope with increased competition and extend the life
of the QE2 by a further 25 years, a massive-scale
refit called “Project Lifestyle” was
established in 1993. MET Studio were commissioned
in 1994 as masterplanners, design co-ordinators
and joint interior designers with a special remit
for the public areas used by over 1600 guests every
day. The scope of the refurbishment project awarded
to MET included the library, nightclub, foyers,
four restaurants and all the bars. In 1996 MET returned
to design two more restaurants, the Lido and all
the Penthouse cabins.
