Hong Kong Wetlands Park
Wetlands Challenge

A bridge spans the entrance and connects visitors to the final gallery, where they are taken along a ‘river’, discovering the threats to the wetlands from human activities. The river takes the form of a sculpted and glowing structure, which is kinked and faceted and sometimes runs over the heads of visitors, setting the routing for the gallery. A number of exhibits sit on top of the river look at deforestation, acid rain, over-hunting and alien species. However, far from being a gloomy space, the content stresses choice and hopes to empower visitors to make choices with positive impact on the environment.
