MET
Studio created the storyline and designed the interior
exhibition spaces for the Dutch National Pavilion
at Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany. Commissioned
directly by the Dutch Government, MET worked closely
with both the client and the leading Dutch architects
MVRDV to represent the themes of space and environment
in one of the world’s most crowded countries,
showing how Holland uses technology and ecology
to find living solutions for its citizens. As well
as responding to the client’s theme of ‘Holland
Makes Space’ the design of the Pavilion also
had to reflect the overall global theme of Expo
2000 – “Humankind – Nature –
Technology”.
